Today I’m going to begin speaking on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Hopefully, you’ll recall a very important point we spoke about last week; that the Baptism of Repentance was not just an historical precursor to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, but is also a personal precursor. That is to say, if you read the accounts in history, you’ll know that John the Baptist introduced the Baptism of Repentance in preparation for Jesus to initiate the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. First repentance forgives your sin and brings your life in line with God’s will then the filling of the Spirit empowers you to live your new life well. |
